To enter the doctorate course at MSLU on a full-time basis, an applicant is to be a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, to have scientific publications or reports and other materials which might prove the theoretical and experimental basis of the dissertation. The dissertation is due to be completed within a three year period. Citizens of foreign states are admitted to the doctorate course in accordance with intergovernmental agreements, agreements with foreign organisations, or contracts between a foreign citizen and MSLU.

The admission to MSLU doctorate course is carried out throughout an academic year.

The doctorate course provides doctorate training in the following subjects:
· Germanic languages (English, German)
· Romance languages (French, Spanish)
· Theory of language An applicant submits an application in the rector's name and attaches the following documents:
· A personal data and working experience registration form;
· Two photographs (4 by 6 cm);
· A copy of higher education diploma;
· A copy of a candidate of science degree certificate;
· A job verification log (transcript);
· A list of scientific publications and their copies;
· A draft scheme of a dissertation thesis;
· References of two Doctors in the related field of studies assessing the relevance and scientific value of the theme and the draft scheme of a dissertation thesis acknowledging that the work can be completed within a period of three years.

The decision on admission is made by the University Council on the basis of the submitted resolution of the department. The resolution is made after the analysis of a scientific report or a detailed draft scheme of the doctorate thesis of an applicant.
